Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/Infection Control Nurse

The Willows at Ramapo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is looking for a talented and hardworking Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)/Infection Control Nurse to join their team.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)Job Description:

• Assist the DON in planning, organizing, and directing the Nursing Department.
• Identify the needs, problems, and progress of nursing services and make recommendations for improvement.
• Enforce policies, Provide guidance,
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator and DON.
• Work as weekend Supervisor as part of Department head monthly rotation
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor delivery of nursing care.
• Carry out, coordinate, and manage administrative functions in areas or programs related to nursing services.

Infection Control Nurse Requirements/Qualifications:

• Responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare-associated infections. Collaborate with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies.
• Conduct educational and training activities for healthcare workers through instruction and dissemination of information on healthcare practices.
• Responsible for the orientation of newly hired nursing personnel to the facility
• Provide training on new equipment and products.
• Coordinate and keep records of in-services and training that meet Federal, State, Local and requirements.
• Responsible for nursing department Performance Improvement activities and presenting PI data at quarterly meetings.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Professional
• Nurses license in the State of practice.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and mature judgments.
• Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.
