Job summary

Buckeye Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to work with the Director of Nursing and support the nursing department of our rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility. The ADON will help ensure the highest quality of resident care and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have an associate degree in nursing or higher, a valid RN license, and at least 3 years of ADON or equivalent long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal communication and ability to interact with patients, families, physicians, and the public.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an ADON or similar in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure nursing personnel comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for resident care.
• Assist in developing and implementing nursing department budgets with facility administration.
• Implement compliance and quality improvement policies, programs, and procedures.
• Oversee surveillance, rounding, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections.
• Support development of infection prevention policies/standards meeting state, federal, and accrediting requirements.
• Lead in infection prevention and serve as a resource, educator, and agent of change to improve infection prevention.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ADON:

• Ensure that all nursing personnel in our facility comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements for the highest quality of resident care.

• Leads in infection prevention and serves as a resource, educator, researcher and proponent of change in order to influence infection prevention improvement to provide quality health care within the organization

REQUIREMENTS OF ADON:

• As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with patients, families, physicians, community resources and the general public.
• Associate degree in Nursing or higher from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must have a valid RN license
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an ADON preferred, Unit Manager/Nursing Supervisor in Long Term Care experience may be considered
