Far Rockaway Center is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Far Rockaway, NY.

DUTIES:

1. Assist the DNS with management responsibilities and in maintaining the quality of care.
2. Responsible for Wound/Skin Rounds weekly.
3. Assist with compliance and ensure effective communication with all levels of nursing staff.
4. Meet the nursing medical needs of all residents.
5. 24 hours on call.
6. Coordinates the staff education program.
7. Assist with coordinating and directing the total planning for nursing services.
8. Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
9. Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of medical records.
10. Assist with interviewing, hiring, and orienting of new nursing staff.
11. Infection control.
12. Maintain flexibility with work schedule to address unpredictable needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Current State RN license required.
2. Min. 3 yrs. exp. in Long-Term Care settings.
3. 2 years of management experience preferred.
4. 1-year staff education experience preferred.
5. Excellent Communication Skills required.
6. Evidence of basic leadership skills and supervision.
7. Flexible hours required.
