Job summary

Morada Senior Living in Temple, TX, is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead clinical teams in a Skilled Nursing environment. You will oversee direct resident care, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with physicians and families.

The role requires 2+ years as a licensed nurse and 1+ year in management, current state license, and strong assessment and triage skills. This full-time position offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse or a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations.
• Experience in the Skilled Nursing/LTC industries.
• Two (2) years experience as a Licensed Nurse.
• One (1) year nursing management experience.
• Must demonstrate competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage.

Responsibilities

• Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
• Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
• Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
• Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
• Coordinates, conducts and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conferences in the absence of the MDS nurse.
• Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation and evaluation of nursing staff.
• Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
• Participates in family/resident counseling.
• Responds to emergency calls as necessary.
• Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
• Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.
• Some “on call” is required.
• Assures timelines of physician visits.
• Accompanies physicians when making rounds.
• Notifies physician and family of changes in resident’s condition.
• Encourages rehabilitative techniques in order to restore residents’ independence.
• Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
• Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
• Assists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and audits.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
