Job summary

Bethany Gardens in Rome, NY seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to partner with the DON in directing daily nursing functions and overseeing resident care.

The role emphasizes compliance with federal/state regulations, staff training, infection control leadership, and effective communication with Supervisors, LPNs, CNAs, and other staff.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in the state of employment.
• 3–5 years of management experience preferred.
• Minimum two years additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and one year of nursing services administration.
• CPR certification.
• Understanding of Medicare guidelines.
• Knowledge of federal and state guidelines.
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Matrix.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily functions of the Nursing Department and supervise nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and facility regulations.
• Provide education and training for staff and orientation for new staff.
• Administer treatments as necessary.
• Collaborate with Director of Nursing and other leadership to oversee nursing operations.
• Rotate shifts as required.

Job description

Bethany Gardens is seeking Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to work closely with the DON in directing the daily functions & overseeing the Nursing Department. This includes assuring that the overall supervision of all nursing personnel with regard to resident care and ensuring compliance with all federal, state and facility regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Job Description

• Must have great communication, organization & written skills
• Must have a passion in nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both.
• Ability to work with Supervisors, Unit-Managers, LPN’s, C.N.A.’s & other facility staff to oversee the performance of duties.
• Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment. Able to rotate sometimes.
• Knowledge & experience in leading the infection control program
• Will conduct education & training as necessary to ensure staff is In-Serviced on numerous topics to ensure compliance.
• Will conduct Orientation classes as necessary to train new staff .
• Able to administer treatment to patients as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of employment
• Preferably 3-5 years of management experience
