Job summary

Ellicott City Healthcare Center in Ellicott City, MD is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. You will partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee the nursing department and ensure high-quality, resident-centered care.

The ADON will lead RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, monitor clinical outcomes, support infection prevention, and participate in QAPI and regulatory activities.

Qualifications

• Current Maryland RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of three (3) years nursing experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care.
• Minimum of one (1) year nursing leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in daily operations of the nursing department.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care.
• Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
• Support infection prevention and control programs.
• Participate in QAPI, risk management, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Assist with survey preparedness and responses to state and federal inspections.
• Investigate incidents and resident concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee clinical documentation and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
• Serve as Director of Nursing in their absence.

• Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting.

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing leadership or supervisory experience.

• Strong knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as an ADON, Unit Manager, Nurse Supervisor, or related nursing leadership role.

• BSN preferred.

• Experience with electronic medical record systems.

• Infection Prevention experience or certification a plus.
