Overview

Come and join our team at this 605-room convention center hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City. Our luxury hotel is located next to the Paycom Center (OKC Thunder), the Oklahoma Convention Center, and across the street from the 70-acre Scissortail Park.

The property includes an all-day dining outlet (Seltzer's Modern Diner), an entertainment sports bar (OKC Tap House), a specialty restaurant (Bob's Steak & Chop House), a coffee shop (Park Grounds), and a retail outlet (RareBird Gift Shop). Additionally, guests can enjoy Mokara Spa, a fitness center, and a rooftop pool and bar (CatBird Seat) with a fire pit, outdoor lawn, and cabanas. The hotel offers 76,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 20,000 square foot ballroom, a 10,000 square foot ballroom, and a 4,200 square foot outdoor pre-function space overlooking the park.

Job Description

The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is a true outdoor recreation, entertainment, and culinary destination paying homage to the heritage and modern progress of the city. With 605 guest rooms and suites, the hotel showcases views of Scissortail Park and the downtown skyline, along with 78,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a lobby bar, tap house/sports bar, modern diner, pool bar, coffee shop, and retail venue.

The Assistant Director of F&B assists in directing and controlling all aspects of the Food & Beverage operation in accordance with Omni standards, policies, and procedures. This includes overseeing property beverage and restaurant operations, ensuring consistent beverage cost controls, and delivering excellent associate and guest experiences. This role involves supporting the hiring, training, and supervision of personnel, guiding Food and Beverage leaders and staff to ensure prompt, courteous service that complies with Omni standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist Managers and Assistants to achieve the highest standards of service and product quality.
  2. Make recommendations for the selection, training, promotion, discipline, and termination of Restaurant, Banquet & Stewarding Staff. Conduct and review performance evaluations of Food & Beverage Managers and Assistants, and support their development.
  3. Establish and implement programs to increase food and beverage revenues and maintain regional positioning.
  4. Ensure F&B Department Heads fulfill supervisory responsibilities related to scheduling, payroll adherence, training, supervision, evaluation, disciplining, and termination of personnel.
  5. Maintain high standards of cleanliness through regular inspections of all F&B departments, complying with health and safety regulations.
  6. Monitor guest service in F&B areas to meet corporate standards and analyze guest feedback, taking corrective actions as needed.
  7. Implement programs to monitor and control labor, food, and beverage costs, and operating expenses to meet or exceed budgeted profit goals.
  8. Develop and maintain effective communication with other departments.
  9. Assist in developing the annual budget and monitor financial reports for discrepancies, responsible for monthly profit and loss reports.
  10. Develop yearly budgets for Food and Beverage outlets.
Qualifications
  1. Extensive hands-on beverage knowledge and experience across multiple outlets, banquet, and/or event beverage, with Profit & Loss responsibilities.
  2. At least five years of experience as a Food and Beverage leader in a 4-diamond hotel.
  3. Strong understanding of scheduling, productivity, inventory controls, P&L analysis, and cost controls.
  4. Strong computer and technical skills, including Micros and online purchasing systems. Detail-oriented with basic mathematical skills and the ability to interpret financial reports.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  6. Proven track record of motivating managers and staff to meet and exceed goals, providing high-quality guest experiences.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with organizational skills.
  8. Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  9. Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and high-volume or high-profile events.
  10. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  11. Minimum of five years in the hospitality industry.
  12. Two years as Food and Beverage Manager or Director of Restaurants preferred.
  13. Knowledge of Micros required.
  14. Ability to make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
  15. Excellent customer service skills.
  16. Pleasant, positive personality, effective communication skills.
  17. Well organized and efficient, comfortable in a demanding environment.
  18. Must obtain and maintain a state-issued alcohol license and training certificate.
