Assistant Director of Food and Beverage – Chatham Bars Inn

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Food and Beverage to oversee all dining outlets, banquets, and manage staff training and service at Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Five‑Star resort located in Chatham, Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all dining outlets and banquet operations.
• Maintain high standards of quality in line with Forbes Five‑Star, Preferred Legend, and AAA standards.
• Develop and implement staff training programs including behavioral, service steps, and company‑wide knowledge.
• Hire, coach, counsel, discipline, perform reviews, and, when necessary, terminate staff.
• Supervise staff during operations and maintain presence in dining rooms to handle guest complaints.
• Contribute to achievement of F&B revenue goals and increase guest count while maintaining service quality.
• Review staffing needs daily and weekly to manage labor costs efficiently.
• Ensure accountability for execution of operating systems (requisitions, inventory, accounting functions).
• Oversee proper guest check procedures, comp and void procedures, and event check posting.
• Create weekly schedules for all F&B outlets.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience.
• Minimum of 2 years dining room management.
• Experience in a 4‑ or 5‑Star/Diamond property preferred.
• College education or equivalent; hotel or restaurant management degree preferred.
• Proven training experience.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills; experience with Excel, Outlook, Micros, OpenTable, and Delphi preferred.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Enjoys fast‑paced work environment.
• Must be available for weekends and holidays.
• Current TIPS Alcohol Certification or comparable certification.

Compensation

$110,000.00 – $120,000.00 (salary range). Actual compensation packages are based on skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
