Job summary

Queens Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks an Assistant Director of Finance to advance Value-Based Purchasing initiatives and analyze performance to improve reimbursement and patient care outcomes.

The role partners with reimbursement teams, clinical leaders and IT to ensure CMS and payer requirements are met, while strengthening reporting tools and cost-effective strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA with accounting emphasis; 2 years fiscal management experience.
• Two years of responsible-level fiscal management or administration with emphasis on financial systems, controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and analyses for VBP programs; track performance and trends.
• Monitor VBP metrics to improve reimbursement strategies and revenue integrity.
• Provide leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure analysis related to VBP.
• Ensure compliance with CMS regulations and payer requirements; collaborate with reimbursement teams.
• Oversee financial reporting related to quality measures and reimbursement accuracy.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to align financial and quality improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate financial performance under VBP contracts, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Improve reporting tools with IT for tracking outcome-based incentives and penalties.
• Support leadership in cost-structure optimization and quality-based reimbursements.
• Partner with department heads to integrate cost-effective strategies hospital-wide.
• Lead training for finance staff on VBP impacts and strategic priorities.
