Job summary

FCS seeks an Assistant Director of Clinical Services to lead outpatient therapy with evidence-based, culturally responsive care across the lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a group of clinicians at various levels of independence and training including those with licenses/permits as LMSW, MFT-LP, MHC-LP, LCSW, and MFT.
• Assist as a key leader in managing the performance of individual supervisees and clinician group as a whole.
• Assist the clinical director in overall clinic management responsibilities including, but not limited to quality assurance, compliance, and management of various clinical service lines.
• Conduct individual biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments to identify client needs, including whether client meets DSM/ICD criteria.
• Develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients to manage progress and episode end.
• Assess ongoing risk and develop safety plans; coordinate hospital transfers when needed.
• Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions using evidenced-based interventions.
• Adhere to documentation standards and timeliness.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional growth through education and supervision.
• Respond after hours for urgent/crisis needs; collaborate with psychiatric, PCPs, and schools for coordinated care.

Description

The F&CS Assistant Director of Clinical Services will assist in overseeing therapy group providing evidenced-based, culturally responsive mental health treatment across the lifespan. The Assistant Clinical Director will have experience supervising clinicians at various training levels in assessing and treating individuals and families in an outpatient setting with diagnosable mental health conditions based on DSM/ICD criteria and the corresponding interpersonal and systemic challenges that come with it. The Assistant Director of Clinical Services will also have experience with personnel management practices including basic working knowledge of labor laws and policies, experience helping clinicians meet key performance indicators (e.g., billable hour targets, timely note completion, etc.), and in general clinic management (e.g., assistance with compliance and quality assurance measures to assure we are meeting standards of practice). The Assistant Director of Clinical Services will oversee the effective delivery of services with an emphasis on evidenced based care, health equity, and compliance with all regulatory oversight bodies.

• Assist the clinical director in overall clinic management responsibilities including, but not limited to quality assurance, compliance, and management of various clinical service lines.
• Conduct individual biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments to identify client needs, including whether client meets DSM/ICD criteria for diagnoses treatable within OMH MHOTRS program and the medical necessity standard for insurance billable services.
• Develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients in order to help manage expectations for progress in treatment and when goals are met such that the current episode of care will end.
• Assess ongoing risk, including but not limited to threat to self or others, and develop safety plans that mitigate risk and assist clinicians in coordinating transfers to the hospital, making welfare check calls, etc.
• Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions using evidenced-based interventions that are client-centered and drive toward treatment goals.
• Adhere to agency and OMH documentation standards, including both content covered and timeliness of completion.
• Demonstrate continued professional growth including deepening and broadening clinical practice through continuing education and supervision.
• Respond after hours for urgent/crisis needs of agency clients as needed.
• Collaborate with internal partners, such as psychiatric team members, as well as external partners, such as PCPs and schools, in order to deliver coordinated care to clients.
