Job summary

Salt Lake Community College seeks an Assistant Director of Custodial Services to lead custodial operations across its multi-campus system. You will supervise supervisors and staff, organize daily operations, and help develop long-term strategies aligned with the college’s mission and values.

You will oversee scheduling, quality assurance, hiring, and budget tasks while promoting sustainable cleaning practices and a supportive workplace culture across SLCC campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Three (3) years of custodial, facilities, or operations management experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience leading staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to custodial supervisors and staff across campuses.
• Develop and implement custodial service plans and schedules.
• Conduct inspections to ensure safety, standards, and best practices.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Assist with budget development, cost control, and resource allocation.
• Oversee procurement, inventory, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operations and events.
• Promote sustainable cleaning practices and green-cleaning initiatives.
• Support emergency response planning and after-hours operations.
• Foster a diverse, inclusive, and service-oriented work environment.
