A leading company is seeking an Assistant Director of the Junior Royals to support and implement youth hockey programs. This role emphasizes leadership, organizational skill, and the development of safe and inclusive environments for young athletes. Responsibilities include program management, budget creation, and recruitment. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have significant experience in youth sports.
The Assistant Director of the Junior Royals is responsible for supporting the development, management, and implementation of all Junior Royals youth hockey programs. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to help drive program success and growth while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and skill-building environment for players, coaches, and families..
This role will pay an annual salary of $50,000-$60,000.

This position will remain open until August 22, 2025.
Develop and implement the long-term vision and strategic goals of the Reading Junior Royals program.
Create and manage annual budgets for program revenue and expenses.
Lead recruitment efforts and participate in the selection process for volunteer coaches across all Junior Royals teams.
Organize and oversee tryouts and team selection processes.
Contribute to the ongoing development and training of coaches within the entire Youth Hockey Program.
Support comprehensive player development across all youth program levels.
Promote age-appropriate skill development at all stages of player progression.
Assist in scheduling and managing ice time allocations for all Junior Royals teams.
Participate in the appointment of coaches for all Junior Royals teams.
Ensure accurate and fair team placements for all registered players.
Serve as Tournament Director for all Delaware Valley Hockey League (DVHL) tournaments.
Operate with limited supervision, demonstrating sound judgment and independence in decision-making.
Help create, implement, and manage policies and procedures emphasizing safety and risk management.
Oversee equipment use and ensure it meets safety and quality standards.
Lead marketing efforts for the Junior Royals program, including but not limited to DVHL events, skills clinics, private lessons, and program promotions.
Collaborate with Reading Royals coaches and players to plan and deliver successful year-round clinics and training sessions.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years of experience in ice-related youth sports, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Proven leadership or management experience.
Experience working within a professional or competitive sports team environment.
Valid USA Hockey coaching certification.
Passionate about youth sports and player development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable in follow-through.
