Job summary

The Irish Studies Program at Boston College invites applications for the new role of Assistant Professor of the Practice / Assistant Director of Irish Studies. The salary range is $90-100k and the appointment is a full-time, non-tenure-track, three-year renewable contract faculty position.

The position includes a pathway to promotion to Associate and Full Professor of the Practice (without tenure). The successful candidate will work with the director and faculty to plan and promote programming

Qualifications

• PhD in humanities or social sciences with Ireland/Irish diaspora focus.
• Experience organizing and supporting academic programs and events desirable.
• Ability to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels; teaching load flexibility noted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and promote Irish Studies programming.
• Teach electives contributing to a broad Irish Studies curriculum; preference for non-literature disciplines.
• Collaborate with the director and faculty to engage the wider Boston area.
