Job summary

Rowan College of South Jersey seeks an Assistant Director of Instructional Technology to supervise the IT staff and oversee daily operations across campus tech spaces and venues.

The role focuses on designing and integrating technology into learning and meeting spaces, with travel between Cumberland and Gloucester Campuses. Strong Extron knowledge and CTS credentials are preferred, and the candidate must collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to enhance instructional spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Two years of management experience preferred; management in Higher Education preferred.
• Two years' experience with ticket management systems.
• Experience with projection equipment.
• Experience with interactive display boards.
• Experience with audio mixing boards.
• Experience with wireless microphones.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with many individuals in a diverse higher education environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize important tasks.
• Ability to handle and move equipment up to 60lbs.
• Ability to use personal vehicle to travel to multiple campus locations.
• Available to work a flexible schedule that will allow for after-hours and weekend/holiday support and being on call during non-scheduled work hours.
• Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision of Instructional Technology staff and daily operations.
• Provides integrated classroom technology training to faculty, staff, and third-party organizations.
• Works with the Instructional Technology team to ensure operations occur on time.
• Integrates classroom technology into activities across campuses.
• Develops and approves employee schedules.
• Contributes to the design and fabrication of customized technology solutions for spaces and events.
• Customizes podiums, lecterns, and carts with integrated controls.
• Prepares RFPs and bid packages for technology purchases.
• Coordinates with resellers and installers to meet campus needs.
• Upgrades, maintains, and troubleshoots technology spaces and equipment.
• Installs and integrates classroom technology components.
• Researches methods to improve operation and efficiency.
• Contributes to policy development and SLAs.
• Resolves problems and answers routine questions.
• Keeps management informed of opportunities, problems, and issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
