Job summary

University at Buffalo is seeking an Assistant Director of Identity & Access Management to lead the IAM program. The role oversees identity platforms, frameworks, and policies, while supervising IAM analysts and engineers to ensure secure access and compliance across the university.

You will collaborate with Information Security, Research IT, and other UBIT teams to maintain service continuity, strengthen cybersecurity posture, and manage vendor relationships that impact IAM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Cybersecurity or related field with 5 years IAM experience or Master’s with 3 years.
• Leadership experience managing technical teams required.
• Knowledge of identity lifecycle, authentication protocols, and access governance.
• Familiarity with privacy regulations and risk management frameworks (higher education preferred).
• Strong collaboration with Information Security and IT teams.
