Job summary

Children’s Museum of Atlanta is seeking an Assistant Director of Advancement to lead corporate and foundation relations within the Strategic Advancement team in Atlanta. The role oversees grant writing, reporting, and donor stewardship while supervising grant management and ensuring annual fundraising goals.

You will identify funding opportunities, manage a sponsorship portfolio, and collaborate across staff to develop proposals and strategies.

Qualifications

Expertise in grant writing with compelling proposals.
Ability to meet deadlines with strong time management.
Experience with institutional donors and fundraising sources.
Knowledge of donor moves management and CRM systems.
Strong editing skills and clear written communication.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Identify funding opportunities and create annual grants budget bringing in $1M a year.
Manage a portfolio of sponsorship and funding prospects.
Research new funding opportunities through foundations, corporations, and government streams.
Prepare leadership for meetings and donor discussions.
Attend donor meetings, Museum programs and community events.
Develop and write appeals and proposals.
Collaborate with staff to determine solicitation strategies.
Maintain a pipeline of proposals.
Fulfill grant reporting requirements.
Participate in Board committees as appropriate.
Develop annual work plans with key staff.
Provide weekly dashboard status reports to Director.
Maximize database capabilities to track grantors and prospects in Altru/FE NXT.
Perform other duties as assigned; assist with special events.
