Job summary

The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) seeks an Assistant Director, Core Business Applications to lead the Core Business Applications team and contribute to hands‑on development. You will guide architecture, development, testing, and implementation of enterprise solutions aligned with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in computer science, engineering, MIS or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of related professional experience.
• Strong SQL proficiency and SaaS familiarity.
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining enterprise application systems.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, secure coding, and Agile/Waterfall methods.
• Knowledge of Human Capital Management, Benefits Administration, and Payroll systems.
• Ability to translate user needs into technical requirements and document solutions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the Core Business Applications team, including mentoring and performance management.
• Establish clear performance expectations and deliver timely feedback.
• Lead hands‑on coding and technical development as needed to support delivery.
• Oversee design, development, testing, and implementation of application solutions.
• Guide requirements gathering with functional and technical stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, planning, and future technology investments.
• Ensure system stability, maintenance, and usability across the portfolio.
• Present prototypes and recommendations to IT and Board stakeholders.
