The role manages budgets, develops policies and training to support student engagement and growth, and partners with students to provide safe, dynamic recreational opportunities on campus.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree with 4+ years relevant experience or Bachelor's with 2+ years.
  • Supervises staff and student employees; oversees intramural, sport clubs, outdoor rec programs.
  • Oversees risk management and safety compliance; manages program budgets and resources.
  • Develops and implements policies and training standards to support student engagement and safety.
  • Ensures student engagement, safety, and program growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight for Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs, and the Outdoor Recreation Office.
  • Hires, trains and oversees staff for the outdoor center; directs the climbing wall and outdoor rentals.
  • Works with sport clubs to meet NMSU policy and procedures and assists with operations.
  • Creates, implements and directs intramural program; works with student staff to host events.
  • Develops and implements policies and training standards to support student engagement, safety, and long-term growth.
