Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Director to help lead a center where children thrive and families feel at home. You will partner with the Center Director to manage daily operations, support your teaching team, and ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, organization, and people skills. You will oversee staffing, classroom quality, and program standards, while guiding staff through coaching and performance management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center
• Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability abilities
• Excellent communication with families and staff
• Ability to pass a background check
• High school diploma or GED; Early Childhood Education coursework a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage staff schedules and coverage; maintain classroom ratios and daily operations
• Conduct classroom walkthroughs; coach staff to uphold program quality standards
• Maintain accurate child and staff files; complete compliance and reporting
• Prepare routine compliance and corporate reporting documents
• Handle parent communication and tours; escalate complex concerns to Director
• Onboard and coach new hires; provide supervisory coverage in Director's absence
• Open and/or close the center as assigned
