Assistant Director, Automation Engineering

Our client seeks an Assistant Director of Automation Engineering for a 6-month, contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is 100% remote.

Role Description

Under direction, serve as a consultant and resource to departmental leadership in developing, executing, and managing essential unit/departmental services and related administrative functions. Participate in developing new programs, systems, and procedures, and monitor their effectiveness.

Qualifications / Duties

• 8+ years of professional experience in Automation.
• Create test automation scripts and utilize tools for validating data and application functionality.
• Build and execute test cases to ensure the integrity of all production solutions on the enterprise data platform, including data pipelines, warehouses, marts, and sharing repositories.
• Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts.
• Expertise in SQL; knowledge of Python is a plus.
• Experience with cloud technologies like Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC processes.
• Experience with enterprise database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, Informatica, DataStage, BI, and reporting tools.
• Experience creating test automation frameworks and test cases.
• Identify opportunities for productivity gains through process improvements and Agile development lifecycle; develop procedures and lead implementation.
• Perform functional, end-to-end, and regression testing.
• Document and analyze test results; recommend corrective actions.
• Manage defects and test case databases, verify fixes.
• Support user acceptance testing conducted by business partners or end users.
• Automate repeatable tests to reduce testing time and effort.
• Define and promote quality and testing best practices among development teams.
