Job summary

Childrens Lighthouse Inc. is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director for our childcare center in Texas. You will collaborate with the Director to run daily operations, supervise staff, ensure classroom ratios, and support teachers.

Responsibilities include managing schedules, training, enrollment, ensuring health and safety, maintaining records, communicating with parents, openings/closings, and stepping in when needed to keep the center running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with daily center operations.
• Help manage staff schedules, breaks, and classroom coverage.
• Monitor classroom ratios and ensure children are properly supervised.
• Support teachers with classroom and behavior concerns.
• Help hold staff accountable for following center policies.
• Assist with staff training and onboarding.
• Communicate with parents and help address concerns professionally.
• Assist with tours, enrollment, and registration.
• Ensure required paperwork and records are completed.
• Help maintain compliance with Texas Child Care Licensing requirements.
• Assist with incident reports and other required documentation.
• Monitor classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Help ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with classroom observations and curriculum expectations.
• Help with opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with center events and family activities.
• Step in to support classrooms when needed.
• Handle daily problems and report serious concerns to the Director.
• Act as the Director's support and assist with center operations when the Director is unavailable.
• Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful environment for children, families, and staff.
