Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and energetic Assistant – Dining & Events to help lead our service team in delivering a first-class experience to our members and guests. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing both day-to-day dining operations and banquet/events execution while fostering a positive, team-oriented service culture.

This is a part-time role with the potential to grow into full-time. The ideal candidate has previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting and thrives on delivering exceptional service.

The Assistant will also serve in a key supportive role to the F&B Department Heads (Dining Room Manager, Events Director, Banquet Manager, etc.) helping to ensure smooth communication, execution, and collaboration across all service areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate banquet and dining room staff.
  • Greet and seat members and guests, manage reservation systems and floor plans.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, appearance, and hospitality in all dining and event spaces.
  • Serve as a liaison between dining room staff and kitchen to ensure seamless service.
  • Support the Dining Room Manager, Events Director, and Assistant Banquet Manager in executing exceptional service.
  • Address and resolve member/guest concerns regarding food, beverage, or service.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate menu changes, shortages, or updates.
  • Maintain point-of-sale systems and inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with the design, marketing, and accuracy of food and beverage menus.
  • Monitor labor and operational budgets, making necessary adjustments to reach financial goals.
  • Contribute to wine list development and beverage promotions in coordination with F&B leadership.
  • Execute opening/closing duties, including acting as Manager on Duty when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with local/state laws and club policies, especially regarding alcohol service.
  • Collaborate on policy development and service procedure documentation.
  • Assist in tableside service or cookery as needed during peak periods or special events.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a hospitality or private club setting.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Professional demeanor with an outgoing, service-minded attitude.
  • Solid understanding of food service standards and etiquette.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing/walking for long shifts. (10–12 hours)
  • Proficiency with reservation and POS systems; inventory management a plus.
  • Degree or coursework in hospitality management preferred.
  • Wisconsin Food Safety Certification is a plus.
