Job summary

Rag & Bone in New York seeks a Men's Wovens Assistant with background in shirting, fabric development and tailoring to support the Men’s Designer with daily tasks and seasonal projects.

You will manage fabric design from hand loom through SMS, create seasonal boards, conduct trend research, assist with tech packs and sketches, edit in Illustrator/Photoshop, set up linesheets, attend fittings, and coordinate trims and samples for show and market.

Qualifications

• Must have technical knowledge of wovens.
• Passion for shirting and fabrics.
• Experience with tailored garments and suiting.
• Strong organization and ability to multi-task.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Manage fabric design and development from hand loom through SMS fabric.
• Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital).
• Trend research based on seasonal inspiration.
• Coordinate with sample room for alterations for Show/Market.
• Assist in design and set up of mock-ups and trials.
• Assist in setting up Tech Packs and sketches where necessary.
• Edit sketches in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Annotate sketches for SMS and coordinate with Technical Designer to ensure SMS compatibility.
• Set up and edit linesheets in Illustrator.
• Attend fittings when necessary and collate design information for Tech Packs.
• Assist in ordering trims for SMS.
• Manage and organize trims/labels/combo fabrics for protos and SMS.
• Manage storage/archive samples.

Job Summary

Rag & Bone is looking for a Men's Wovens Assistant with background or experience in shirting, fabric development and tailoring who will support Men’s Designer with daily tasks and seasonal projects

Responsibilities

• Manage fabric design and development from hand loom through SMS fabric
• Create and maintain seasonal boards (physical & digital versions) and keep boards updated after meetings and fittings.
• Trend/Vintage research based on seasonal inspiration
• Manage rentals, past protos and reference styles for meetings and reference.
• Research for seasonal design concepts
• Assist in design and set up of mock-ups and trials.
• Assist in setting up of Tech Packs and sketches where necessary
• Edit sketches in Adobe Illustrator and photoshop
• Assist with sketch annotations for SMS (coordinating with Technical Designer to ensure all information is in-line with SMS Tech Packs)
• Setting up and editing linesheets in Adobe Illustrator
• Attending fittings when necessary (proto /SMS stage – assist in collating design information for Tech Packs)
• Assist in ordering trim for SMS
• Manage and organize trims/labels/combo fabrics etc for protos and sms
• Manage storage/archive samples
• Coordinate with sample room for any alterations for Show/Market

Requirements (skills, qualifications, education, etc)

• Must have technical knowledge of Wovens
• Passion for shirting, fabric basics and different weaves a plus
• Experience with tailored garments, suiting or shirting
• Must have desire to work within Wovens specific product area
• Must be extremely organized and have ability to multi-task
• Must have thorough knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Salary

The target salary for this role is between $55,000 and $60,000 based on candidates' experience and expectations.
