Job summary

URBN Urban Outfitters, Inc. in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Designer (Knits) for the Men’s Design Team. The role blends creative vision with technical knit knowledge, spanning lightweight to heavyweight knits and sweaters to push the UO aesthetic.

You will collaborate with Buying, Product Development, and Print + Color to shape seasonal direction, respond to trends in real time, and present concepts through sketches, fittings, and design packs, while ensuring timelines are met.

Qualifications

• 1+ year design experience preferred.
• Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design or related area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of relevant fashion trends and customer behavior.

Responsibilities

• Set up spec sheets for bodies and communicate fit and construction details to Technical Design.
• Actively participate and assist Design lead in creating seasonal assortment.
• Provide feedback and approve all samples and design submissions.
• Prepare presentation materials for seasonal benchmark meetings (Sketch Review, Finalization, Print + Color day).
• Ensure accurate fabric, trim, and wash information in design packs and tech packs.
