Job summary

Carrie Amber LLC in El Monte, CA, is seeking an Assistant Designer to take seasonal collections from concept to production across multiple brands. You will work hands-on on CAD development, tech packs, and fittings, while coordinating with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure accurate specs and on-time delivery.

You will build branding artwork, maintain spec documents, and support market materials.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of apparel design or product development experience.
• Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills for CADs and technical artwork.
• Knowledge of apparel construction, fabrics, trims, color, print, and garment fit.
• Experience creating or maintaining tech packs and product specifications.
• Comfort in fittings—reading a spec sheet and measuring accurately.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail across collections and deadlines.
• Clear communication and ability to accept direction early.
• Balance creative thinking with production requirements and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build CADs for new styles and line extensions.
• Create and maintain tech packs and product specifications through production handoff.
• Support seasonal color, print, fabric, trim, and silhouette development.
• Keep CADs, line sheets, tech packs, and pitch sheets consistent across brands.
• Develop and maintain branding artwork within each brand’s identity and guidelines.
• Maintain tag sheets by style and delivery and prepare artwork specifications.
• Build selling tools for market appointments and customer meetings.
• Track development samples, revisions, approvals, and open items against the calendar.
• Review incoming samples against approved CADs and flag discrepancies.
• Assist with color, trim, and artwork approvals.
• Participate in live fittings with Technical Design and Lead Designers.
