Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years design experience with a strong interest in swimwear.
• Strong sketching and fashion illustration skills.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
• PLM experience preferred (Browzwear and PLM exposure helpful).

• Prepare design spec sheets, sketches, pitch sheets, trim sheets, and other design materials.
• Create presentation boards with fabrics, color, flats, and figure sketches.

About the Role

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Girls' Swimwear Assistant Designer to join a dynamic Design team. This role will support the execution and development of seasonal girls' swimwear collections, including fabrications, colors, prints, trims, and product details.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in girls' fashion and swimwear, excellent organizational skills, strong sketching and CAD abilities, and a collaborative, can-do attitude. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career designer to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional product development environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and execution of seasonal girls' swimwear collections while maintaining brand identity.
• Support the preparation of design specification sheets, sketches, pitch sheets, trim sheets, and other design materials.
• Create presentation boards featuring fabrics, color, flats, figure sketches, and other seasonal concepts.
• Assist with the setup and preparation of design presentations.
• Participate in line assortment development and line presentations to help create a cohesive and compelling collection.
• Research seasonal fashion trends, color direction, prints, patterns, trims, merchandise trends, competitive markets, and customer needs.
• Assist with the research and development of trims, prints, and patterns.
• Attend style fittings and cross-functional team meetings as needed and document notes and follow-up items.
• Maintain product development logs, line sheets, presentation boards, design archives, and sample organization.
• Organize and manage inspiration and development samples.
• Update and maintain tech packs and product development information using PLM systems.
• Collaborate effectively with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, Technical Design, and other cross-functional teams.
• Track development and production issues and follow up on outstanding items.
• Adhere to cross-functional calendars and meet deadlines established by the Design Director.
• Communicate professionally and effectively in individual and group settings.
• Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of design experience, with a strong interest in swimwear.
• Strong creative skills and enthusiasm for girls' fashion.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong hand-sketching and fashion illustration skills.
• Ability to identify and interpret color, fashion, and market trends.
• Knowledge of design specifications, including draping, pattern making, sewing, and CAD software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Collaborative team player who works well in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to receive direction and feedback with a positive, solutions-oriented attitude.
• Browzwear and YPLM/PLM experience preferred, but not required.
