Job summary

Prairie View A&M University, part of the Texas A&M University System, seeks an Assistant Dean for University College to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of bachelor's degree programs, with a focus on strengthening first- and second-year retention, progression, and degree completion.

Reporting to the Dean, you will lead initiatives across advising, tutoring, and data-informed interventions to elevate student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in applicable field.
• Six years of related senior administrative experience.
• Demonstrated experience in student success, academic advising, student development, retention, enrollment management, or a related area.
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dean in the overall management and leadership of University College.
• Develop, implement, and assess institutional priorities for first- and second-year student success.
• Oversee degree programs in Interdisciplinary Studies housed within University College.
• Coordinate advising engagement with PV Cares Team academic advisors.
• Lead initiatives designed to improve student retention, academic progression, persistence, and degree completion.
• Collaborate with university stakeholders to provide faculty development.
• Coordinate and actively participate in student recruitment and retention programs to ensure successful enrollment goals.
