Job summary

The University of Rhode Island is seeking an Assistant Dean for Student Experience and Community Building within the College of Health Sciences. You will partner with college leadership, faculty and students to strengthen the student journey from recruitment through graduation, creating inclusive, engaging programs and community-building opportunities.

The role leads college-wide events, builds campus partnerships, and develops peer mentoring and co-curricular strategies to support student

Qualifications

Master’s degree in education, leadership, counseling, college student personnel or related field.
Minimum of five years working with undergraduate and/or graduate students.
Demonstrated experience and dedication to enhancing student belonging.
Experience in program development and facilitation.
Ability to work collaboratively with decision makers and stakeholders at multiple levels.
Ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Proven written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and assess initiatives fostering belonging, engagement, and community.
Plan and execute college-wide events and programs.
Build partnerships with campus offices to coordinate student experience initiatives.
Collaborate with student organizations to support involvement and leadership development.
Lead peer mentoring and ambassador programs for the college.
Develop and contribute to co-curricular strategies that boost yield and retention.
Coordinate with faculty and staff to support engagement opportunities.
