Job summary

Harvard Divinity School invites applications for the Assistant Dean for Ministry Studies and Chaplaincy Education. This role leads the Clinical Pastoral Education program, overseeing curriculum, accreditation, and partnerships with hospitals and educational institutions to support diverse vocational pathways for students.

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Ministry Studies, the incumbent will develop an innovative, multireligious CPE program, supervise educators, and advance spiritual care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience.
• Certification as an ACPE Certified Educator in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, launch, administration, and continuous improvement of the HDS Clinical Pastoral Education program.
• Lead ACPE accreditation and compliance with educational standards.
• Teach and supervise CPE students, serving as primary educator for multiple units annually.
• Recruit and supervise adjunct or contract CPE educators and staff.
• Develop and sustain clinical education partnerships across hospitals and community settings.
• Advise students on CPE certification and vocational pathways.
• Contribute to educational initiatives and represent HDS in professional organizations.
