Job summary

South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD seeks an Assistant Dean for Academic Programs within CAFES to oversee scholarships, orientation, advising and student engagement, and to manage the ALECS academic unit.

Teaching and advising responsibilities are included; the role supports curriculum development and the college’s mission to teach, research and extend. This 12-month, full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in agriculture, biological sciences, educational counseling, or related field by start date.
• 1-3 Years of related experience in postsecondary Ag Education or closely related discipline.
• Experience in advising, teaching, student success, and curriculum management.
• Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Lead student success activities and coordinate ALECS academic program.
• Serve as primary instructor for AGED 119 First Year Seminar, AFES 494 Internship and other courses as needed.
• Assist with curriculum development and academic activities within the college.
