Training and/or experience which evidences a knowledge of custodial and basic maintenance techniques.

Ensuring cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, and steps, and recycling materials according to the recycling program

Cleans restrooms and locker rooms daily and replenishes supplies

Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and custodial equipment including groundskeeping equipment

Sets up and takes down special equipment for assemblies, special programs, and other activities

Operates necessary equipment to promote a clean, safe, and healthy environment

Assists in the cafeteria during lunch and in cleaning the kitchen

Guards property against fire, theft, and illegal entry, obeys all safety regulations

Provides security for buildings by attending to the physical plant during open hours and secures all doors, windows, and restricted areas during closed hours; responds to Sonitrol calls in the absence of the Head Custodian

Closes the building by shutting off all lights, locking all doors and windows, and unlocks doors as required

Performs tasks around the grounds such as mowing, trimming shrubbery, removing snow and ice, and emptying receptacles

Lifts and moves equipment, furniture, supplies, or materials (up to 80 lbs, up to 50 yards)

We serve approximately 7,500 students from Pre-K through grade 12 across 17 state-of-the-art buildings in west-central Ohio. Requirements for an Assistant Custodian:

• High School Diploma or the equivalent
• Knowledge of custodial and basic maintenance techniques through training or experience

Responsibilities of an Assistant Custodian include:

• Maintaining cleanliness and recycling in classrooms, offices, hallways, and steps
• Daily cleaning of restrooms and locker rooms, replenishing supplies
• Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Setting up and taking down equipment for events
• Operating cleaning and maintenance equipment
• Assisting in cafeteria and kitchen cleaning
• Securing property and following safety regulations
• Providing building security during open hours and securing premises after hours, responding to security calls
• Performing groundskeeping tasks

What We Offer:
Work schedule: 8 hours/day, 260 days/year, Monday to Friday, 12:30 am - 9:30 pm or as assigned.
Starting salary: $19.33/hour.
