Job summary

The Amberleigh, a Sonida Senior Living community, in Williamsville, NY, seeks an Assistant Culinary Services Director to lead the culinary team and oversee dining services for residents in independent living, assisted living and memory care settings.

Responsibilities include managing the culinary service department, coordinating with nursing staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance while cooking daily to deliver high-quality meals. Competitive benefits and hourly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Culinary Director in restaurants, hotels, SNF, or senior living.
• An associate degree or better in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or Hospitality Management; or CEC/ACF certification.
• ServSafe Certification or Certified Dining Manager (CDM).

• Assist culinary director in management, planning and directing activities of the culinary service department and supervising dining staff.
• Maintain food service standards, policies, equipment and regulatory compliance to deliver high-quality resident meals.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to meet residents’ needs.
• Assist with ordering supplies, inventory control and budget adherence.
• Help manage both BOH and FOH teams and cook daily in the kitchen.

Assistant Culinary Services Director Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting the culinary director in management, planning and directing the activities of the culinary service department and managing/supervising dining services staff.
• Responsible for food service standards, policies and procedures, equipment, systems, city and state regulations and work areas while providing the highest quality of food service for Residents.
• Coordinates closely with nursing staff to ensure residents’ needs are constantly being met, as needed.
• Assist in ordering supplies and maintains inventory control. Verify orders received, assuring needed goods are on hand. Ensure that all budgetary guidelines are achieved.
• Assist with managing both BOH and FOH teams.
• Must be willing and able to cook daily in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

• At least 3-5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager or Culinary Director in restaurants, hotels, SNF, or senior living.
• An associate degree or better in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or Hospitality Management or Certified Executive Chef (CEC, ACF).
• Serve Safe Certification or Certified Dining Manager (CDM).

Pay rate is $30/hour based upon experience
