Job summary

The Amberleigh, a premier retirement community in Williamsville, NY, is seeking an Assistant Culinary Services Director to lead dining services and support the culinary team. You will oversee daily operations, ensure high standards of food quality, and coordinate with nursing staff to meet residents' needs.

Requirements include 3–5 years in a senior culinary role, an associate degree or higher in related fields, and ServSafe or CDM certification.

Qualifications

• At least 3–5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager or Culinary Director in restaurants, hotels, SNF or senior living.
• Associate degree or better in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Hospitality Management or Certified Executive Chef (CEC, ACF).
• ServSafe Certification or Certified Dining Manager (CDM).

Responsibilities

• Assist the culinary director in management, planning and directing the activities of the culinary service department and supervising staff.
• Maintain food service standards, policies, procedures, equipment, systems and compliance with city/state regulations while delivering high-quality food for Residents.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to meet residents’ needs as required.
• Assist in ordering supplies, manage inventory, verify orders and ensure budgetary guidelines are met.
• Assist with managing both BOH and FOH teams.
• Be willing and able to cook daily in the kitchen.

Education

High School Diploma or better

Associate degree or better in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Hospitality Management or Certified Executive Chef (CEC, ACF)

Assistant Culinary Services Director Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting the culinary director in management, planning and directing the activities of the culinary service department and managing/supervising dining services staff.
• Responsible for food service standards, policies and procedures, equipment, systems, city and state regulations and work areas while providing the highest quality of food service for Residents.
• Coordinates closely with nursing staff to ensure residents’ needs are constantly being met, as needed.
• Assist in ordering supplies and maintains inventory control. Verify orders received, assuring needed goods are on hand. Ensure that all budgetary guidelines are achieved.
• Assist with managing both BOH and FOH teams.
• Must be willing and able to cook daily in the kitchen.

Qualifications:

• At least 3-5 years’ experience as an Executive Chef or Kitchen Manager or Culinary Director in restaurants, hotels, SNF, or senior living.

Pay rate is $30/hour based upon experience
