Job summary

The County of Santa Barbara is seeking up to 2 Assistant County Executive Officers to serve as trusted confidants, advisors, collaborators, and project managers who help execute the goals of the executive office and Board of Supervisors. You will directly supervise department directors and other executive managers and staff.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in public or business administration (Master’s preferred) and have 8+ years of increasingly responsible municipal management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree highly desirable.
• 8 years of increasingly responsible administrative and management experience in a full-service municipal environment.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise department directors and other executive managers and staff.
• Serve as confidant, advisor, collaborator, problem solver, and project manager for executive office and Board of Supervisors.
• Help execute goals and objectives and ensure delivery of services to the public.
