Qualifications

• Requires JD or equivalent and admission to Minnesota Bar.
• Strong research, writing and courtroom advocacy skills required.
• Experience in criminal prosecution and appellate matters preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present cases in civil and criminal matters before courts.
• Advise county officials and employees on legal matters.
• Interpret statutes, rules, and regulations; draft briefs, memoranda, notices and pleadings.
• Handle appellate work including appeals to state and federal courts.
• Provide legal guidance on child support, community services, and land use matters.
• Perform after-hours on-call duty as required.
