Job summary

Spencer’s and Spirit is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer in New Jersey to create and manage technical specifications for licensed and generic costumes and accessories across men’s, women’s, kids’, and infant categories. You will partner with Product Development to address technical and production issues and communicate with factories throughout production.

The role requires knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern corrections, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office,

Qualifications

• Experience in apparel, soft goods, or costume technical design/product development.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and pattern corrections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• PLM experience preferred; CLO 3D experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specification packages for licensed and generic costumes and accessories across men’s, women’s, kids’, and infant categories.
• Partner with Product Development to address technical and production issues.
• Respond to factory questions and troubleshoot issues throughout production.
• Conduct fittings and document fit comments, measurements, photos, and required pattern corrections.
• Communicate technical details, construction requirements, and fit updates to factories.
• Develop grade rules to ensure consistent sizing across products.
• Review and complete factory pattern corrections as needed.
