Job description

The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager should have a solid understanding of corrosion mechanisms and materials science. The role will require a split between office time and fieldwork. The office work consists of preparing for field work, compiling field data, as well as writing reports and technical memorandums. The field work will consist of performing assessments on pipelines and concrete structures associated with the water, wastewater, and transportation industries. Field work includes entering confined spaces, working near traffic, and working in wastewater structures. The Assistant Corrosion Project Manager will also be expected to frequently travel nationally for field work. This role will receive classroom and hands‑on training to be able to perform fieldwork properly and in a safe manner.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close‑out), while under supervision of a Project Manager
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
  • Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more‑senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
  • Work with assistance from Project Engineers, Engineers In‑Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in project execution within the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Food and Beverage and/or Industrial Markets
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Chemical / Process design software (examples include Aspen Suite, EnviroSim BioWin, Hatch GPS‑X, or OLI Systems)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5 years related experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
