Rosendin Electric, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Corporate Operational Controller to oversee financial reporting for nationwide electrical construction operations.

This senior manager role leads a team, ensures accurate close processes, analyzes project profitability, and supports leadership with actionable insights. The role requires extensive GAAP knowledge, ERP experience (Workday/SAP/Oracle), and strong leadership in a fast-paced, owner‑led environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in operational or corporate accounting, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Construction industry experience with electrical/general contractors is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Workday Financials or similar ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee month-end and year-end close processes for designated operational segments (revenue recognition, COGS, project profitability).
  • Prepare and review financial statements, operational reports, and KPIs with leadership.
  • Maintain robust internal control frameworks and policies; drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Project Teams to review forecasts and financial risks.
  • Supervise and develop a team of operational accounting professionals.
  • Lead special projects to improve accounting processes and leverage financial technologies.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level over/under billing strategies and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide GAAP guidance and ensure company policies are followed across operations.

Your Next Opportunity:

The Assistant Corporate Operational Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for Rosendin's nationwide electrical construction operations. This senior manager position provides critical oversight and analytical support for operational accounting functions, directly contributing to our financial health and the sustained success we share as an employee‑owned company. You will help manage and develop a team, driving financial excellence across various project lifecycles and providing actionable insights to leadership.

What You'll Do:
  • Direct and oversee the accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes for designated operational segments, including revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, and project profitability analysis.
  • Manage the preparation and review of financial statements, operational reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insightful analysis to the Corporate Operational Controller and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure robust internal control frameworks and departmental policies related to operational accounting are adhered to, identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations Managers and Project Teams to review project forecasts, assess financial risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making for complex electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of operational accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accuracy, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational accounting processes, leveraging financial technologies and driving efficiency gains across the organization.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of enterprise-level over/under billing strategies and cash flow forecasting methodologies.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting issues, ensuring consistent adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies throughout all operational financial activities.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
  • Proficiency with enterprise-level accounting software (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel modeling for complex financial analysis and reporting.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, specifically ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), and accounting principles unique to the construction industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear, actionable insights for operational and executive leadership.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of mentoring a team, collaborating effectively cross‑functionally, and presenting financial information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet stringent deadlines, and adapt to evolving business needs in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all financial reporting and data handling.
What You Bring to Us:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in operational or corporate accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience within the construction industry, particularly with an electrical contractor or general contractor, is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience with Workday Financials or a similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is preferred.
Travel:
  • Up to 15% for site visits, regional office support, or professional development.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily an office-based role; occasional visits to project sites or regional offices may be required to support operational understanding.
  • Work is generally performed in a professional office environment, with typical noise levels for a collaborative workspace.
  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer keyboard and mouse, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • May involve occasional lifting of office materials up to 20 pounds.
