Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the preparation of financial statements that adhere to regulatory and accounting guidelines. Working under the guidance of the VP, Finance & Corporate Controller, you will play a crucial role in identifying and rectifying discrepancies while assisting in the establishment of effective control systems. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles which include GAAP and experience in Public Company accounting. As an organized professional with keen attention to detail, you should be dependable and capable of working independently and collaboratively. Your primary objective will be to ensure that the company’s accounting and financial processes meet established standards, promoting accurate financial reporting and effective control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, controls, and oversight over the month, quarter, and year-end company close.
  • Leading, guiding, and managing reviews and supervising the accounting team this includes AP team, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Payroll, Equity accounting.
  • Understand and maintain ERP system operations, identifying and enhancing the system for scalability and efficiency.
  • Identify, create and improve processes and procedures including documentation and support.
  • Prepare schedules and information related to year-end audits and support the Qtrly and Y/E SEC reporting requirements.
  • Lead the SOX controls narrative process, review/identify and updates to controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a similar field/ CPA a plus
  • Strong GAAP knowledge /at Corporate or divisional controller for public company.
  • Cost Accounting exposure is a plus!
  • Public Accounting experience – Big 10 is ok.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in manufacturing/medical device industry.
  • Experience in Microsoft D365 is a plus!
  • Previous experience in SOX 404
  • Extensive experience in corporate finances, auditing, and performance management.
  • Superb organizational and time management abilities.
