Job Overview

The Corporate Assistant Controller supports the Corporate Controller and is responsible for assisting with the preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting processes, supporting all financial deadlines with the closing process, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure consistency and transparency in financial reporting. This position is a key contributor to accurate financial reporting and helps guide the accounting team.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Assist the Corporate Controller in preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information for management, stakeholders, and auditors.
    • Support Corporate Controller in the annual corporate budgeting process.
    • Analyze and perform variance analysis of corporate expenses between actual results and budget/forecasts, providing detailed insights to management.
    • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to enhance financial processes and controls.
    • Analyze trends, key financial metrics, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
    • Partner with functional units to provide financial support and guidance, as necessary.
    • Work closely with departments such as Operations, Marketing, and IT to gather information and insights for financial planning and analysis.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, JSOX and other regulatory requirements.
  • General Ledger & Month-End Close:
    • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes to include balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Oversee and manage journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
    • Oversee all accounts payable and general ledger functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
    • Aid in the intercompany reconciliation process.
    • Provide guidance and support to the team on accounting issues and procedures.
  • Internal Controls:
    • Implement and maintain internal control processes.
    • Ensure compliance with all finance regulations and policies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automating and streamlining financial processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field is required. MBA preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Power Point skills required.
  • Familiar with PowerBi a plus.
  • 2+ years’ experience in leading a team.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data and insights clearly.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with a high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team but also independently and contribute to the overall success of the accounting department.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple projects with concurrent deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving issues.
  • Strong financial analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS finance principles.

Salary Range: $77,070 - $138,765
