Job summary

GFMCO is seeking an Assistant Core Machine Operator in Cordele, GA to support the Core Shop. This is a full-time, hourly position.

Assist in operating core molding machines and ensure production meets customer specifications. Responsibilities include finishing cores, packaging, recording counts and times, and helping with station cleanup while following safety rules. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Basic reading and math skills
• Able to understand and follow instructions and procedures
• Understand and abide all safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, and instructions
• Other tasks assigned by management personnel
• Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the company handbook

Responsibilities

• Finish cores by performing such tasks as filing, mudding, gluing, assembly, dipping and/or labeling
• Insure a quality product is completed according to customer specifications at the best
• Package cores to the satisfaction of the customer
• Record counts and times
• Fill out pallet identification tags
• Assist the core machine operator to efficiently produce a quality core at, or above, posted rates and notify the operator of any production/quality problems
• Help the core machine operator with work station cleanup
• Provide assistance to co-workers as trained and authorized
• Follow safety rules, work policies and procedures per training/instructions
• Communicate in an efficient and effective manner with co-workers and supervision to insure jobs are done correctly

Position Overview
