Job summary

Atlantic City Public Schools is seeking an experienced Safety Support role to assist the Coordinator of Public Safety in daily security operations across the district.

The ideal candidate has at least five years in school safety, a New Jersey driver’s license, and proven ability to train and supervise security personnel while working with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum five years' experience in school safety and security.
• Experience working with school-aged children.
• Excellent speaking, written and interpersonal skills.
• Capable of training and supervising security staff.
• Knowledge of communications/dispatch systems and I.D. equipment.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license.
• English language communication, verbal and written.
• Criminal background check and U.S. citizenship status required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Coordinator of Public Safety with daily safety operations district-wide.
• Support and train security staff and coordinate incident response.
• Collaborate with school staff to maintain secure facilities.

• Possesses good human relations, communications and motivational skills.
• Possesses a valid New Jersey driver's license.
• Effectively communicates and understands job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
• Successfully completes the required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
