Job Description

An Assistant Cook, or Assistant Chef, ensures the kitchen is orderly and assists Cooks in food preparation and arrangement. Responsibilities include cleaning the kitchen, washing dishes and utensils, and ensuring the Cook has everything needed to run the kitchen efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in food preparation activities such as cleaning, cutting, chopping, and peeling ingredients.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation areas according to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Wash, disinfect, and store utensils and equipment properly.
  • Buy, weigh, and store ingredients and supplies.
  • Operate kitchen appliances including cutters, knives, mixers, and ovens.
  • Manage inventory, unload supplies, and organize the storeroom.
  • Participate in programs and projects to improve service quality and productivity.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Develop new menu items and improvise existing ones.
  • Manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget.
  • Ability to cook North Indian cuisine.
  • Willing to do shift work.
