Job summary

The Assistant Cook at Care Connection for Aging Services supports the Head Cook in storage, preparation, and service of meals, helping maintain food quality, proper portioning, and sanitation in our senior care kitchen.

You will assist in inventory management and pre-preparation of daily menus, help maintain temperature controls, and ensure compliance with health codes, safety regulations, and organization standards.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Minimum 1 year of food service experience.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Cook in storage, preparation, and service of food.
• Maintain sanitation of the general kitchen area in compliance with health codes.
• Ensure correct portioning of food items during preparation and service.
• Maintain appropriate temperature and portion control for items packaged for home meal delivery.
• Assist in maintaining the daily perpetual inventory system.
• Pre-prepare menu items as appropriate for upcoming menus.
• Ensure all food quality standards are consistently met.
• Abide by all foodservice safety and sanitation rules, as well as federal, state, and local regulations and health codes.
• Promote the Care Connection mission to provide resources and services that empower people to create healthy aging experiences.
