This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Remote Assistant Controller. In this role, you will have a critical impact on the company's financial success, managing accounting operations and supporting financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with leadership, utilizing your expertise to lead and mentor the team through complex financial challenges. Accountabilities
  • Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Mentor and develop accounting team members through regular coaching and performance feedback
  • Oversee the consolidation of global subsidiaries, including foreign currency translation
  • Ensure timely payments for Accounts Payable and timely receipt of invoices for Accounts Receivable
  • Manage accounting for property, plant, and equipment, including capitalization policies and impairments
  • Handle accounting for leases under ASC 842, including ROU assets and lease liabilities
  • Coordinate with external and internal auditors and manage audit deliverables
  • Maintain process documentation and narratives
  • Help scale accounting systems, tools, and workflows to support company growth
  • Support in year-end inventory count (travel may be required)
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Act as a trusted backup to the Controller
  • Project management of ad hoc projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 4-5 years of experience managing and leading a team
  • Combination of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience
  • Experience working at or supporting a public company
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Hands-on experience with SOX compliance
  • Advanced financial technology skills; experience with modern ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
