Job summary

Coda Search is partnering with a highly reputable Private Equity group seeking to hire an Assistant Controller to join its growing finance and accounting team. This individual will oversee fund accounting operations, support the deal team throughout the investment lifecycle, and assist with financial reporting across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting experience within private equity, real estate, investment management, or public accounting.
• Strong understanding of fund accounting, partnership accounting, and investment reporting.
• Experience supporting investment/deal teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with accounting platforms and fund reporting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing the financial reporting for multiple private equity funds and investment vehicles
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and workpaper preparation
• Support the deal team with transaction execution and closing activities
• Coordinate with external auditors and fund administrators
• Prepare investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and performance analyses
• Review partnership allocations, waterfalls, and carried interest calculations
• Assist with cash management, liquidity planning, and treasury-related activities
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures
