Job summary

Ringside Talent Acquisition Partners is seeking an Assistant Controller for a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH. The position supports the Controller and strengthens the organization’s accounting operations.

The role oversees day-to-day accounting, GAAP financial statements, audits, internal controls, budgeting, and staff mentorship, while stepping in for the Controller on key deliverables as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger and month-end close.
• Assist in preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Help manage the annual audit process, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Support development and maintenance of internal controls across the accounting function.
• Review account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and reviewing their work.
• Identify and help implement process improvements within the accounting function.
• Step in for the Controller on key deliverables and decisions as needed.
