Job summary

Wellbore Integrity Solutions (WIS) in Houston, TX, is seeking a North America Assistant Controller to support the North America Controller in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across the United States and Canada. You will coordinate month-end and year-end close, support audits, and ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Responsibilities include leading close activities, reviewing entries, and guiding business leaders on accounting matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 8 years of accounting experience required.
• Advanced understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
• Experience with consolidation, reporting, and compliance systems.
• Familiarity with SOX, audit processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for North America.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Manage general ledger accounting activities and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
• Oversee fixed assets, intercompany transactions, inventory, payroll, and revenue recognition processes as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and regulatory requirements across North America.
• Provide accounting guidance to business leaders and assist with system implementations.
