Job summary

Hollywood Park in Inglewood, CA seeks an entrepreneurial Assistant Controller to oversee day-to-day financial operations, including corporate accounting and internal controls. This role supports the finance function and requires strong analytical skills and a fan-first mindset to serve our visitors and teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting/finance, GAAP knowledge, and leadership experience; CPA is a plus. Public accounting and ERP experience are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of combined accounting and finance experience.
• Manager level experience required (3-5 years preferred).
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Sports/Venue industry experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting - CPA is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Extensive experience with general ledger functions and close processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is a plus.
• Experience working through ERP change/implementation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead NFL League Reporting process and craft specialized financial reports.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Mentor and grow a team of accounting staff.
• Develop and enforce strong internal controls and data integrity.
• Own the audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee cash management and treasury activities with Accounts Payable.
• Lead high-impact projects shaping the finance function.
