Job summary

LHH is seeking an Assistant Controller for a growing manufacturing and distribution operation in Irving, TX. This role will help build and scale a regional finance function within a multi-entity business, partner with operational leadership, and strengthen controls.

Ideal candidates bring at least five years of progressive accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and the ability to establish processes. In-office role with travel about 15–20% within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience in construction, engineering, distribution, or related industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Willingness to work in-office and travel 15–20% within the region

Responsibilities

• Manage and review month-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statements, and trial balances to ensure accurate, timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Establish and maintain regional accounting policies, internal controls, and close procedures. Analyze financial results, review discrepancies, and report on key performance indicators, including bookings and backlog.
• Partner with regional finance leadership to build accounting infrastructure, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide insight into financial performance.
• Coordinate with corporate accounting, IT, and shared services teams on financial systems integration, reporting processes, and accounts payable and receivable controls.
• Support acquisition due diligence, onboarding, opening balance sheet reviews, banking transitions, vendor setup, and integration of acquired businesses into established accounting systems and close schedules.
• Support annual external audits and corporate tax reporting, prepare vendor Forms 1099 as needed, manage bank accounts and daily cash activities, and assist with inventory reviews and other projects.
